Good Shepherd Physical Therapy—Palmerton to Hold Summer Health Fair on June 27
Community Welcome for Health Screenings and More

Palmerton—Good Shepherd Physical Therapy—Palmerton will be holding a Summer Health Fair on Tuesday, June 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair is free and open to the public.

Members of the community will be treated to light refreshments and numerous health screenings, including:

  • Stroke Risk Assessments will be offered to determine how likely an individual is to suffer a stroke.
  • Pediatric Speech Screenings will be offered to test children to see if they would benefit from speech therapy. This includes determining if children are speaking at an age-appropriate level.
  • Balance Screenings will help individuals with histories of falling and other balance issues determine if they would benefit from physical therapy.
  • Back and Neck Pain Screenings will help people who suffer from back and neck pain determine is posture treatment or other therapy would benefit them.

Good Shepherd Physical Therapy—Palmerton is located at 3295 Forest Inn Road, Palmerton. The facility offers a wide range of rehabilitation services including physical, occupational and speech therapy, along with stroke, spinal cord injury, amputee and arthritis rehabilitation. Good Shepherd Physical Therapy—Palmerton is also the only facility in Carbon County with a therapist on staff who is certified in the McKenzie Method, a leading-edge rehabilitation program designed to help patients with mechanical spine disorders. The technique uses physical therapy and exercise to extend the spine of a patient, decentralizing the pain and making it more tolerable.

Media Coverage Note: Reporters, photographers and videographers are invited to cover the Summer Health Fair. Please call Gene Nichols of the Good Shepherd Communications Department at 610-776-3165 if your media organization will be covering the event.
