Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD)
| Lymphedema Management |
Part of Good Shepherd's Lymphedema Management Program, Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a precise and intricate massage technique designed to move excess fluid from tissue and promote normal functioning of the lymphatic system. Part of a comprehensive treatment plan called Complex Physical Decongestive Therapy (CPDT), MLD is combined with a program of compression bandaging, remedial exercise, and patient education for self-care after discharge. Good Shepherd offers CPDT and MLD services through our physical and occupational therapy programs.
