Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is used to maximize the functional independence of each resident in the areas of work, self-care, and leisure through the use of adaptive equipment, training, functional skill development, and technology.
Communication Services
Communication services provide comprehensive assessment of speech, language, and hearing functions, as well as the communicative ability of each resident. Therapy also includes individual training to improve, alter, augment, or compensate for communication disability, if appropriate. A communication enhancement program assists residents with their communication activities. Feeding and swallowing assessments and feeding treatment programming ensure safe nutritional intake and eliminate the risk of choking and aspiration.
Pastoral Care
Pastoral care offers confidential pastoral counseling, weekly and seasonal ecumenical worship services, religious discussion groups, and assistance in communicating with each resident's chosen faith community. We have an interfaith meditation chapel and a chapel council composed of residents who advise chaplains regarding all pastoral care programs and services.
Social Work Services
Social work services provide therapeutic interventions which serve to assist resident and families with interpersonal adjustment issues, problem solving, and identified needs.
Therapeutic Recreation
Therapeutic recreation provides residents with a well-rounded leisure lifestyle that incorporates socialization, creative expression, emotional outlets, intellectual stimulation, physical exercise, and independent leisure activity.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy improves or maintains physical capacity and function as they relate to independence, comfort, and well-being.
Volunteer Programs
Volunteers serve as helpers and companions to residents in their rooms or in the snack bar and other meeting areas. Volunteers transport residents to therapies and activities, accompany and/or drive residents on individual and therapeutic recreation trips, and run much loved groups including ceramics, art, movies, and games.
