Hockey Fights MS Tournaments to Benefit Good Shepherd's MS Wellness Program7/16/2012Hockey Fights MS, a unique organization that raises funds in support of multiple sclerosis research and treatment, will hold its 7th annual Hockey Fights MS tournaments in August. A women’s ice hockey tournament will be held August 3 to 5, 2012, with a men’s tournament following August 10 to 12, 2012. Both tournaments will be held at the Steel Ice Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. More than 40 ice hockey teams from throughout the mid-Atlantic region are expected to participate in the tournaments. All proceeds from the August events will benefit the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network MS Wellness Program, a bi-weekly program that offers activities to enhance the quality of life for people with MS. Women’s Tournament: Men’s Tournament: Hockey Fights MS was founded in 2005 by tournament director Candice Arnold, who has MS. Since the first Hockey Fights MS tournament, the organization has raised more than $55,000 by holding annual ice hockey tournaments, and all proceeds are used to support MS research, treatment and quality-of-life initiatives.
