Good Shepherd To Host Free Stroke Risk Screening on June 25
Allentown, PA – Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network will conduct a free stroke risk screening from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, June 25, in the Good Shepherd Health & Technology Center, 850 S. Fifth Street, Allentown. To schedule an appointment, call 610-776-3393.
Free screenings will include a check of height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, blood sugar, cholesterol and carotid bruits (a check of blood flow through the carotid artery). Each participant will also receive a medical history review, a personal risk assessment and additional stroke awareness education.
It is recommended that participants fast for one hour prior to the blood sugar and cholesterol testing.
Free parking is available in the Good Shepherd parking deck on S. Fifth Street, with covered access to the Health & Technology Center via a pedestrian bridge on level three. Free valet parking is also available at the main entrance of the Health & Technology Center. Click here for directions.
The event is sponsored by Health Network Laboratories and provided as a service of Good Shepherd’s Stroke Rehabilitation Program, which is the only Stroke Rehabilitation Program in the region that is nationally accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities).
