Good Shepherd Outpatient Rehabilitation—PalmertonGood Shepherd Physical Therapy—Palmerton is focused on returning individuals to productive, independent lives. A wide range of outpatient rehabilitation services is available, and an interdisciplinary approach enables individualized consultation and treatment. Patients may be referred by a physician, insurance company, discharge planner/social worker, home health agency, family member, or self-referral.

Good Shepherd Physical Therapy—Palmerton is the only facility in Carbon County with a therapist on staff who is certified in the McKenzie Method, a leading-edge rehabilitation program designed to help patients with mechanical spine disorders. The technique uses physical therapy and exercise to extend the spine of a patient, decentralizing the pain and making it more tolerable.

Outpatient services provided at the Palmerton site include occupational therapy, hand rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, physical therapy, orthopedic therapy, wound care, burn care, back and neck rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, speech and language therapy, dysphagia programs, Multiple Sclerosis programs, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, amputee rehabilitation, and arthritis rehabilitation.
