Continence Training
Bladder function is often compromised as the result of spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, or a debilitating illness like multiple sclerosis. As a result, Good Shepherd's Continence Training Program provides specialized bladder function testing (urodynamics) which helps indicate the appropriate fluids, medication, bladder training, or surgical intervention needed to assist in increased continence levels.
Since it is common for patients to have both bladder and bowel problems, bowel continence training is also provided. Designed to assist with regularity, diet, control, and scheduling, continence training helps both inpatients and outpatients gain the confidence needed for their return to the community.
