How To Reuse and Recycle Adaptive Equipment

Assistive TechnologyThere are many ways to “go green,” such as turning off lights after leaving a room, unplugging appliances and chargers not being used or recycling items you no longer need. The Reused and Exchanged Equipment Partnership (REEP) Online Classifieds support the “go green” effort by using the same concept for adaptive equipment.

The goal of REEP Online Classifieds is to help facilitate the donation or sale of previously owned assistive technology equipment to someone who can benefit from it. The online classifieds are accessible to people with disabilities, their families, friends or other individuals who are looking to find, purchase, donate or sell adaptive equipment.

Examples of the types of equipment that can be found in REEP Online Classifieds:

  • Stair glides
  • Adapted vehicles
  • Wheelchairs
  • Vision aids
  • Communication devices

The REEP Classifieds provide up-to-date listings of available equipment. Sellers and donors are allowed to post their own listings, including photos of their devices. REEP also includes listings for centers that repair, refurbish and donate items to those with disabilities living in Pennsylvania.

REEP provides an opportunity to be a part of the go green effort while making a difference in the lives of others.

If you are interested in selling, donating or acquiring a gently used assistive device, you can access the REEP Online Classifieds at piat.reep.ioddev.org/home.php
